Leader: Fight the good fight of faith, people of God!
People: Not with weapons or force, but with gentleness and endurance.
Leader: With righteousness and holiness,
People: With faithfulness and love.
Leader: Pursue these things as an offering to the Lord.
People: Let us worship God!
Call to Confession (based on 1 Timothy 6:17)
Leader: Our hope is in God alone, who richly provides for our every need. Clinging to this hope, we trust in God to deliver us from our sins. Please join me in our prayer of confession.
Prayer of Confession (based on 1 Timothy 6:7-10)
You are invited to speak a word or short phrase that describes a personal or collective sin of which you repent and seek forgiveness.
When the gathered community is finished sharing, we pray together:
People: O Great Provider, we brought nothing into the world and can take nothing with us. Yet we still find ourselves always wanting more. Instead of being content with the gifts we have from you, we fall into temptation. We become trapped by our foolish desires, and our quest for personal gain brings nothing but pain and destruction. We allow evil into our lives through our covetous choices. Forgive us, O Lord, and point us towards worthier pursuits that honor you above all. In your mercy, hear our prayers…

Leader: Christ has called us to eternal life. Let us grab hold of it by receiving this good news: in Christ’s name, we are all forgiven!
