Hymns
Hymn GTG #53, “O God, Who Gives Us Life”
Hymn GTG #65, “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”

Call to Worship (based on Exodus 14:13-15)

Leader: People of God, do not be afraid!
People: Our deliverance comes from the Lord!
Leader: Stand firm in your faith,
People: For the Lord is our salvation!
Leader: Though danger pursues us, God urges us ever onward.
People: Let us venture and dare in the name of the Lord!

Call to Confession (based on Exodus 14:21-22)

Leader: At any given moment, we are flanked by peril, on our right hand and on our left. Our sin threatens to overwhelm us. Let us therefore cry out to God for aid, trusting the Lord to deliver us from disaster.

Prayer of Confession (based on Exodus 14:10-12)

You are invited to speak a word or short phrase that describes a personal or collective sin of which you repent and seek forgiveness.
When the gathered community is finished sharing, we pray together:

People: God of our Salvation, your mighty hand guides us towards a glorious future, yet we find ourselves paralyzed by fear. We see only what has been and not what could be, and we question whether stepping into the unknown is worth the risk. We choose the devil we know instead of the goodness that we have been promised. Forgive us our weakness, O Lord. Move us from fear into faith; move our minds and hearts and bodies to follow wherever your love may lead us. In your mercy, hear our prayers…

(Silent prayers of personal confession)

Declaration of Forgiveness (based on Exodus 14:10, 16)

Leader: Our sin pursues us relentlessly, threatening to overtake us and offering no means of escape. But God’s mercy creates a path to redemption where there was none before. Hear the good news: in Christ’s name, we are all forgiven!
People: Thanks be to God!
