When the gathered community is finished sharing, we pray together:
People: O Righteous Judge, we strive to do good in this life: to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. But too often, we do it for the wrong reasons. We expect a reward for our actions in this life, a heavenly crown in exchange for our righteousness. Forgive us, we pray, for our arrogance. Remind us that your grace is a gift, and righteous living our grateful response. Return us to right relationship with you, O Holy One, in both this life and the next. In your mercy, hear our prayers…
